Some patients can be sensitive to sunlight on the day of the treatment, so we recommend avoiding the sun (and definitely avoid tanning) during this downtime.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME IS THERE AFTER A LUMECCA IPL TREATMENT?
Depending on your level of sensitivity, your skin may appear red after the treatment and will fade within an hour.
It’s important to note that the dark spots treated may appear darker on the skin after treatment. This is the desired outcome and only means Lumecca was successful! After about a week or two, these dark spots will flake off. Until then, it’s okay to apply makeup on the treated areas for an even appearance.
The end result is a clear, even and smooth skin tone!
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED TO SEE RESULTS?
Treatment results vary by each patient and the extent and type of damage caused. When treating sun-damaged skin, patients can often see improvement in the clarity of the skin with a single treatment with Lumecca, whereas it typically takes 4-6 treatments with other IPL technologies to see a difference.
