How cosmetic injectables are used to address the signs of aging

Shot of a beautiful woman relaxing at homeWomen spend a lot of time and money with makeup, waxing, and facial creams to maintain their youthful appearance as long as possible. However, it is impossible to fight the signs of aging as gravity and skin laxity take hold. Fortunately, there are options available to women who are considering ways to turn back time. While plastic surgery procedures such as brow lifts and facelifts are helpful, they are not the only option. Additionally, many women want to avoid surgical interventions. This is why our team at Renu Med Lounge will often suggest the advantages of cosmetic injectables.

How do cosmetic injectables work?

Cosmetic injectables are available to provide more short-term results with a non-invasive alternative to the traditional facelift. Two types of injectables available at Renu Med Lounge are neuromodulators and dermal fillers.

  • Neuromodulators – Botox and Jeuveau are the two neuromodulators available at Renu Med Lounge. These injectables are used in the muscles of the face to reduce contractions that cause dynamic folds and wrinkles. The results of these treatments often last several months and can be injected regularly to maintain the changes and slow the appearance of aging skin. These injectables are best used to treat wrinkles near the upper portion of the face, such as forehead furrows, lines between the eyebrows, and lines around the eyes called “crow’s feet.”
  • Dermal fillers – another way to target specific wrinkles and folds is with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are formulated with an ingredient called hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the skin. Hyaluronic acid naturally attracts water molecules, so when injected with a gel carrier, this ingredient can ensure the improvement of volume where it is administered. At our practice, we offer injectable dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane.
