Choose chemical peels for dramatic or subtle skin exfoliation

Fortunately, there are a number of solutions for patients who may have hyperpigmentation, poor skin texture and tone, and even the early signs of aging. The team at Renu Med Lounge may recommend that these individuals consider the advantages of undergoing chemical peels.

What is a chemical peel?

Renu Med Lounge is pleased to offer chemical peels as a way to exfoliate and enhance the skin’s texture and tone. These treatments may sound scary, but they are completed in the office to ensure safety and efficacy. Chemical peels use a combination of chemical ingredients on the skin to achieve the desired results. We offer mild, moderate, and deep peels for patients ready for a change, and can help individuals select the chemical peel appropriate for their unique needs. The more aggressive the peel, the longer the recovery and downtime, so this needs to be taken into consideration when selection a chemical peel for an individual. However, these deeper peels provide the most dramatic results when compared to mild or superficial peels.

What can I expect from a chemical peel?

During a chemical peel, the skin is cleansed before chemical ingredients are applied on the skin. Mild, superficial peels may not require the chemical to be cleaned off of the skin afterwards, while more aggressive peels will leave chemicals on the skin for just a minute or two before removal. Over the course of several days (or weeks, for deeper peels), the skin may flake and peel. This is part of the exfoliation process during which the dull, dead skin cells are removed and fresher, more youthful skin underneath is revealed!
